The ERA-5/1 robotic arm is a new entry in the palette of products proposed by BlueBotics.
It has been developed to face the lack of "embeddable" robot arms on the market.

ERA-5/1 is an industrial anthropomorphic arm, specially designed to be integrated in mobile platforms. An ultralight weight and a very low power consumption are the most remarkable advantages of this robotic arm.

Overview

ERA-5/1 has been designed to maximize the performances while keeping the weight and the power consumption as low as possible.
Furthermore the nice esthetic of this arm, its silent gear system and its low inertia make it a very competitive candidate for human environments.

The motors of the ERA-5/1 are driven by the main arm controller. Each motor can be configured to work in position, speed or torque.
The gearing is composed of Harmonic Drives gears combined with a cable transmission, resulting in a very good efficiency with lack of backlash and a smooth, almost soundless movement.

ERA-5/1 is equipped with a very light hand-like gripper. 12 infrared sensors located inside the gripper are able to detect when an object is inserted between the fingers.
