Management team

Our management team consists of people with complementary skills and excellent qualifications. All the technical fields needed by this venture (i.e. mechanics, electronics, software and system integration) are perfectly mastered.

Furthermore, our team is built up of people with industrial experience and management skills as well as people with research knowledge. This creates a perfect synergy working toward a common shared vision.

Dr. Nicola Tomatis - CEO

Nicola has a Ph.D. in technical science from the EPF, Lausanne and a M.Sc. in computer science from the ETH, Zurich. Since the year 2000 he has been involved in the management of the development of various mobile robotics projects, namely in the Autonomous Systems Lab, EPFL, and later on for BlueBotics. Nowadays he is in close contact with the robotics industry and the mobile robotics research community both in Europe and in the USA, allowing him to have an extensive knowledge of this technology and its market. Nicola joined BlueBotics in 2001 and he is CEO since year 2003.

Ralph Piguet - Technology & Production

Ralph has a degree in electrical engineering from the ETS, Lausanne. He has gained a strong industrial experience in production engineering and computer support during his seven-year employment within BOBST SA, Lausanne. Since 1997 he has been in charge of the electronics R&D, production and support in the Autonomous Systems Lab, EPFL. Ralph joined BlueBotics in 2001 as accounting and production manager.

Grégoire Terrien - Research & Development

Grégoire has a M.Sc. in microengineering from the EPF, Lausanne. Since 1999, he has been involved in the design and system integration of various robots and has leaded several robot-design projects for the Autonomous Systems Lab, EPFL. Grégoire joined BlueBotics in 2001 as R&D manager.

Rémy Blank - Research & Development

Rémy has a M.Sc. in microengineering from the EPF, Lausanne. After his M.Sc., Rémy has worked as a researcher at the Autonomous Systems Lab, EPFL just before successfully starting his first venture in 1998: Shockfish SA. Rémy joined BlueBotics in 2005 to strengthen the R&D team.

Dr. Pierre Lamon - Research & Development

Pierre has a Ph.D. in technical science and a M.Sc. in microengineering from the EPF, Lausanne. Pierre has been deeply involved in mobile robotics research starting from year 2000 and has managed large mobile robotics projects. He has a broad network in the research community. Pierre joined BlueBotics in year 2006 as scientific manager and R&D member.
