Our new robot Guido!

The summer competition on our Facebook page has given its result: We received 24 names for the new robot guide. We had hard time to decide which name to choose, but we finally found the most appropriate both in term of meaning and corporate image. After RoboX and Gilberto, we welcome Guido in the BlueBotics guide’s family!

IROS 2012 – Vilamoura, Portugal

BlueBotics will participate as exhibitor to the 25th edition of IROS on October 7-12, the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems. You are very welcomed to visit us in the Neptunus room, where you will be able to see our products and to eat Swiss chocolate.

InnoKick prize

BlueBotics participated to the InnoKick competition, where professional in marketing, design and innovation support a group of students to come up with new applications based on the company’s product. The EasyPorter concept received the public price during the pitch presentation on September 26.

euRobotics for leadership

European robotics actors from private and public sector work together to take a larger share of the €15.5 billion annual global robotics market. Key industry and academia stakeholders have founded the euRobotics aisbl association on September 17, and the European Commission joined them on September 18 to launch the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in robotics to strengthen the European robotics sector. BlueBotics is one of the founding members.

Our new robot, You name it!

A new tour guide robot for outdoor applications is going to join our product line in the coming weeks. If the robot is ready and tested, one last thing is missing: A name! Give us an idea until July 15th on our Facebook page or by e-mail and get a chance to win a miniature Lego version of Igor.

Logistics at IROS

Recent trends in logistics and manufacturing clearly indicate an increasing demand for flexibility, modularity, and re-configurability of material flow systems. This will be the focus of the ”Metrics and Methodologies for Autonomous Robot Teams in Logistics” workshop on September 30th in San Francisco, where our CEO is invited speaker.

AGVs Forum, Stuttgart

Nicola Tomatis was invited speaker at the AGVs and Mobile Robots Forum to present future trends in navigation of AGVs. Organized by VDI and Fraunhofer IPA, the event gathered 100 logistics professionals from German speaking areas of Europe.
